Oaklawn: A runner with a future

Email

Hearts On Fire looks like a runner with a future after she won a conditioned allowance route over older rivals, including the Grade 2-placed Mambo Fever, in the seventh Sunday at Oaklawn. It was the third career start for Hearts On Fire, a 3-year-old daughter of Lion Heart.

She won her debut in a maiden special weight sprint at Remington Park on Dec. 1, then was second last month in an entry-level allowance at Oaklawn. Alex Birzer was aboard Sunday for trainer Donnie Von Hemel. Hearts On Fire races for Nolan Creek Farm.
