Oaklawn: Robertson on Win Willy

Win Willy will start as the 117-pound highweight in this afternoon's Grade 2, $500,000 Oaklawn Handicap. He is looking for his third win at the meet, and will be making a rare start at a mile and an eighth off a sweeping, near four-length win in the Grade 3, $150,000 Razorback at a mile and a sixteenth March 6.

"The way he finished last time, I don’t think distance is going to hurt the horse," said Robertson.

Win Willy will get good support for his effort last time, for which he earned a Beyer Figure of 102. He also has a stellar record in Hot Springs, where last year he upset the Grade 2 Rebel at 56-1.

"He’s run six times at Oaklawn and won four," Robertson said. "He likes the surface, and that’s a big advantage. If you have a horse that likes Oaklawn and wins here, it seems like they keep winning [here]."

Cliff Berry has the mount on Win Willy, who races for Jer-Mar Stables.
