Oaklawn: Joubert wins with $78 horse

Jockey Jenna Joubert, who this meet has regularly worked some of the top horses residing in the stable of trainer Larry Jones, brought home a $78 winner in the fourth race. She guided first-time starter Precious Present to the upset victory for trainer David Morris.

Precious Present had worked sharply from the gate in her final prep for her debut, going a half-mile in 48.80 seconds March 25. The move was the sixth fastest of 36 at the distance that morning at Oaklawn. Precious Present won a $10,000 maiden claimer for fillies at mares at six furlongs Sunday.

Among the horses Joubert has worked for Jones are graded stakes winners Havre de Grace and Winslow Homer.
