Oaklawn: Honey Bunch opens up at 4-5

Email

Honey Bunch has opened up as the 4-5 favorite for the upcoming eighth race. She will be returning to the overnight ranks after finishing a close third in the $60,000 Spring Fever for fillies and mares last month at Oaklawn. In that race, she lost a shoe, said her trainer, Joe Petalino.

"She had a hind shoe come off in the race," he said. "That didn't help her much. It was on sideways when she came back [to be unsaddled]."

Oaklawn leading rider Cliff Berry has the mount on Honey Bunch, who races for John Waken, who also owns the Grade 1-winning 3-year-old J P's Gusto.
