Oak Tree: Zenyatta schools

Before Friday's second race, most of the crowd surrounding the paddock wre not focused on the seven runners preparing for a start. They were more interested in a certain mare being schooled on the opposite end of the paddock.

Zenyatta, preparing for a start in Saturday's $250,000 Lady's Secret Stakes where she will attempting to stretch her unbeaten streak to 19 races, was in the paddock for approximately 20 minutes. She was walked on both sides of the paddock, stood and took in her surroundings, including the attention of about 50 fans and photographers, and then was walked after the runners left the paddock.

Trainer John Shirreffs said the schooling session was designed to "reaffirm" Zenyatta about the paddock procedure. "That where there aren't any surprises," Shirreffs said.

The Lady's Secret is Zenyatta's final start before a trip to Churchill Downs for the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 6.
