Oak Tree: An upset for starters

The first-time starter Perfect Feat pulled a surprised win in Friday's first race, rallying from mid-pack in a field fo six maiden claimers to win a six-furlong race at 20-1 under jockey Alonso Quinonez.

Trained by Richard Mandella, Perfect Feat ($42.40) was timed in 1:10.79, outfinishing Lutess, and Miss Picaboo.

Perfect Feat, by Pleasantly Perfect, is a 4-year-old filly, who had shown modest works in recent weeks, which is typical of a Mandella-trained runner.

Lutess, sent off at 9-5, did not have the best trip. Breaking from the rail, she was crowded slightly at the start, and altered course under jockey Joel Rosario to avoid running into heels of a rival. Lutess has been second or third in five starts, and will be a short price in her next race.
