Oak Tree: Tough trip for 'Chianti'

Email

Tuscan Chianti finished third in Wednesday's third race for $18,000 to $20,000, but could have been closer with better racing luck in the last half of the seven-furlong race.

Tuscan Chianti was on the inside behind the leaders until mid-stretch and closed well under jockey Joe Talamo to finish three-quarters of a length behind Frequent Fame, who was a nose ahead of runner-up Fairway Road at the wire.

Tuscan Chianti, who started for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, was claimed in a two-way shake by Tim Yakteen. Marino's Promise, who finished fifth, was claimed by Mike Mitchell.
