Oak Tree: Only 5 ran in 7th

Wednesday's seventh race was reduced to five starters, and did not feature show betting, after Naughty Mariana broke through the gate and ran off down the backstretch before the optional claimer over six furlongs. Naughty Mariana was 9-1 at the time of the incident.

The race was won by Appealing Afare ($6.80), who rallied from third to finish a half-length in front of Vision in Gold, who was part of a favored entry at 3-5. Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, his third winner of the day, Appealing Afare was timed in 1:10.01.

Appealing Afare was making her first start since finishing second in an allowance race on June 9. Vision in Gold was making her first start since finishing fifth in the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks on June 6.
