Oak Tree: Flores conquers double

Jockey David Flores swept Thursday's early double with Victory Stand ($15.80) and Church Avenue ($5.80) giving the veteran jockey four consecutive wins, dating back to Sunday's last two races.

The $2 Flores double returned $56.80.

Flores gave Victory Stand and Church Avenue ideal rides.

Victory Stand was well behind a speed duel between Warren's Rose and Long Legged Lovely until the turn, swept to the lead in the final furlong and easily outfiished Long Legged Lovely in a maiden race for $25,000 claimers over 1 1-16 miles for fillies and mares.

Church Avenue was well-placed throughout a $10,000 claimer for females over 6 1-2 furlongs. Flores had Church Avenue in a stalking position behind Soldier Betty, took the lead in early stretch and held off a late run from Stroppy.

Flores does not ride the third and fourth race, and is back aboard Nefarious in the fifth race for maidens.
