I found this article to have more detail about the Aidan O'Brien situation. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/racing/ballydoyle-trio-found-guilty-of-team-tactics-942686.html Uncoupled entries are bad for the sport. But then I'm not a racing secretary trying to fill a card.

True or false Steve: your hidden agenda in Sunday's column to put the Mile on Friday is so the BC Saturday Pick Six is easier to play and hit?

Long time reader, first time poster. Angliana has hit the board 10 straight times and will do so again behind Curlin today. Nice payoff if he gets second. These milestone races have a way of getting quirky (Skip Away going for the $ record, many a Belmont Stakes with the Crown on the line, horses trying to win 17 in a row like Cigar and Hallowed Dreams). Seems to me like something or someone jumps up and denies history in this sport quite often. Just sayin....

Steve, May I suggest that, just for fun, we all print out your stakes timetable and make a note next to each race that Bobby Frankel has an entry in. And not just horseflesh, but champions and genuine favorites! Amazing! And I also suggest linking to the following article for some very interesting news about Euro trainer & Henrythenavigator's trainer, Aidan O'brien: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/racing/article4833416.ece Quite appropriate reading as we head to the BC. i didnt need today to make me realize it, but AFTER WATCHING THE SA RACES, the BCup results will be a joke(and 2 days at that!) Running the races on this polycrap proves NOTHING and FORM means even LESS...heres hoping for every european horse to finish in the top 3 of every race (although thats probably what the idiots in charge are hoping for)

Recently NYRA banned the use of mud caulks as of 10/29 due to increase risk of catastrophic injuries. Nick Zito, Allen Jerkens and many others have spoken out against this ruling. Then today Steve Asmussen used them on Curlin, the reigning horse of the year and now the all time leading money winner. If these shoes were so dangerous to horses, why would the connections of Curlin use them?? Zito, Jerkins, Contessa, Levine etc... have all stated they never had problems with their horses wearing these shoes. And obviously Asmussen wasn't concerned today. I think NYRA needs to take another look at their stance on this matter.
