IMPERIAL HINT was extremely impressive in last Saturday's Grade 2 General George Stakes at Laurel, and looks poised for additional big prizes in the near future.

In last week's FormBlog, I discussed ST. JOE BAY, who seems destined for the Dubai Golden Shaheen after polishing off a pair of graded sprint races in Southern California.   When SHARP AZTECA drubbed a good field in last Saturday's Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap, Team USA added another strong contender for the Dubai World Cup undercard.

ST. JOE BAY, profiled in the December 8 edition of FormBlog (http://www.drf.com/blogs/sharp-sprinter-consider), could be on his way to Dubai after notching his second consecutive graded stakes win in last Saturday's Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes at Santa Anita.

Imperative has always been a useful horse, a blue-collar runner that shows up time and time again to pick up nice checks for his connections.   Imperative's problems have been two-fold:   1. He's a Grade 2-level performer that has mostly competed in the Southern California handicap division. That means that, more often that not, Imperative was up against the likes of Shared Belief, California Chrome, Game On Dude and Bayern. While a talented hard-hitter, he's just not as good as those runners.

Wagering begins this Friday on the second pool of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager.    One of the interesting names on the list of 23 individual entrants is Mont Saint Legame (#15, 50 to 1 morning line).
