Before thoughts of the Belmont Stakes fade - until next spring, that is - I thought I'd share photos of some long-ago Belmont winners whom I've photographed.  I'm not sure how many reading this will actually remember these horses from their racing days - but most of the names, at least, should be familiar.

As the days tick down to I'll Have Another's date with destiny in the Belmont Stakes, the eyes of the racing world are aimed squarely toward the handsome chestnut colt and his trainer Doug O'Neill.  Oh, sure, my eyes are, too - but I'm also watching the others likely to contest the 2012 Test of the Champion.   Here they are....the horses whose connections are trying to keep the Triple Crown off of I'll Have Another's head.

Met Mile day at Belmont Park was hot and humid - featuring great racing, and tough competitors, all day long.  A heartfelt congratulations to the amazing Shackleford and his connections who, with the help of Caleb's Posse, sure put on a memorable show in the day's main event. Here are a few photos from the afternoon.
