1:25 pm: Getting a belated start on Day 38 of 39 at Saratoga, where the it's fast and firm and the G3 Saranac and G1 Spinaway headline a 12-race card.

11:50 pm: Here are my horse-by-horse comments on the entrants for today's three Grade 1 races at Saratoga. No early scratches in those races, which are also legs 2 ,3 and 4 of an all-dirt pick-6 sequence which starts with a $64k carryover from Friday. Fast, firm and overcast -- but only a 10 percent chance of rain before 6 p.m. -- for Day 37 of 39.  

  2:25 pm: Four days and 45 races to go for Saratoga 2011, starting in five minutes with today's late-starting 10-race card that features a trio of $75k stakes races carded as the afternoon's 2nd, 3rd and 8th races.

1:10 pm: I keep thinking the "Grade 2" designation for today's With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga is a typo, because a G2 ranking is completely illogical and unwarranted.

12:30 pm: Main track fast, turf good, two stakes races with fields of five and six, and a $44k pick-6 carryover for the first day of the final week of Saratoga.
