Monmouth: Haskell Fever

Racing has kicked off here on Haskell weekend, with favored Tipit and Tapit capturing the opener over Wildly Lana. It's beautiful here, with the humidity down a bit and the temperature in the 80's. There's some chance of rain on Sunday, of course, since it hasn't really rained here all summer during the races, and the Haskell Day would be incredible timing for Mother Nature, who apparently hates Monmouth Park as much as some members of the state senate.

The entry opened up 1/5 in this upcoming 2nd race, and while Stacy's Double Dee is certainly legitimate, and Lalique, the other half of the entry, is capable, that's a ridiculous price. I'll play the Pick 4 but the original plan, which was to single the #1, is not going to be in effect at that price.
