Monmouth: Erin Rose Most Impressive

First-time starter Erin Rose had some decent works showing for her debut but nothing that suggested she'd run the way she did in the 6th race. She blew them away, in hand for much of the stretch run, and the final time of 1:10 was solid. Trainer Christophe Clement may have himself a runner.

The late Pick 4, which carries a $250,000 guarantee and begins with race 11, figures to start off chalky with Get Serious a legit favorite in the first leg. I'm going to save with Roman Tiger but I expect to tear those tickets up, as Get Serious has a big pace edge. Lookin At Lucky is my key in the 12th, but I'm also using Afleet Again, who comes off some deceptively good efforts, as well as Ice Box, Super Saver and Trappe Shot. Cactus Charlie is a horse I'm interested in at a price in the 13th, the 3rd leg of the Pick 4 sequence, but I'll be alive if Wake Maker, High On Candy, Dueling Alex or Modern Cowboy win. The finale comes down to three horses for me, with Arctic Air the most logical, and best result for me. The others are Royal Brat and Afternoon Treat.
