Monmouth: Beaten Favorites in 1st Two Pick 5 Races

The first two legs of the Pick 5, which today featured a $44,661 carryover, are in the books, and while longshots haven't dominated favorites are now 0-for-two after Rojo's Tune captured the 7th race. In the 6th race, J J 's Lucky Train was only 2-1 but he was a clear 2nd choice behind favorite Royal Currier, who was a distant 2nd, and Rojo's Tune was just 3-1 but was the 3rd choice in the betting in the 7th race. Rojo's Tune had to withstand a jockey's objection by Chuck Lopez, who was aboard runner-up Little Often Anni, but the stewards quickly dismissed that claim despite the fact that the two runners did bump in midstretch.
