Meydan: Vision d'Etat runs

Vision d'Etat was inspected by official veterinarians with the Emirates Racing Association on Saturday and was pronounced fit to start in the $10 million Dubai World Cup at Meydan racecourse later in the day.

In a simply worded two paragragh statement, the Emirates Racing Association announced "the horse has been passed fit by the Veterinary Officer and is deemed suitable to race."

It was not clear on Friday or early Saturday why Vision d'Etat needed the inspection. He won three Group 1 races in England, France and Hong Kong last year, and the 2008 French Derby. Vision d'Etat was listed as the favorite for the Dubai World Cup with British bookmakers before the veterinary inspection.
