Lone Star: Turf debut of half-brother to Wasted Tears

Email

If Ever, who is a 3-year-old half-brother to turf specialist Wasted Tears, will make his turf debut in the upcoming ninth race at Lone Star Park. He closed fast for fourth in his career debut June 23, galloped out strongly, and will now stretch out from six furlongs to a mile and a sixteenth.

If Ever has had a chance to breeze on the grass, as a 2-year-old last October at Retama Park. He went a half-mile in 47.60 seconds, the fastest of nine works at the distance that morning in San Antonio. Patrick Boxie has the mount on If Ever.

Wasted Tears is a multiple Grade 2 winner on the grass for trainer Bart Evans, who also trains If Ever.
