Lone Star: Purge's half-sister in allowance

Email

Texas Tempest, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Purge, returns to the overnight ranks in the upcoming second race, an entry-level allowance for fillies and mares at a mile. Her rivals include current 1-2 favorite Tapia, who was a romping, six and three-quarter length winner of a maiden special weight route in her last start April 28.

Texas Tempest will break from post 3, and Tapia, from post 4. To their outside is Perfect Tap, a 5-year-old mare who has an age edge on both fillies, who are 3. Perfect Tap is stretching out around two turns, and figures to be prominent, perhaps tracked by Tapia.
