Lone Star: Pleasantly Blessed strong favorite

Pleasantly Blessed is a strong favorite heading into the featured second race, a $50,000 optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares that has been moved from turf to a sloppy main track. It was scheduled to be run at seven and a half furlongs, but now will be contested at a mile. Luis Quinonez has the mount on Pleasantly Blessed, a stakes winner, for owner-trainer Steve Asmussen.

She will be returning to the overnight ranks after running fourth in the $50,000 Irving Distaff last month in what was her first out since February 2010. That race has since produced two next out winners, including The Cat Who, who took a recent allowance at Lone Star.
