Lone Star: No phones, wireless

There were some 'technical difficulties' Friday night at Lone Star Park. The track did not have telephone or wireless services for the entire program due to a service-provider breakdown. However, tote operations were not impacted, according to track officials. Below are a few high points from the card:

Brickyard Fast turned in one of the best performances for a 2-year-old this meet, with a dominant win in the second race. It was a maiden special weight at five furlongs. Joe Petalino trains Brickyard Fast, who is from the first crop of the Distorted Humor stallion Sharp Humor.

Bryan McNeil rode the winner. He and his father, jockey Tony McNeil, will be guests during the new 'Jockeys & Java' program Saturday morning at Lone Star. Both of the McNeils compete at the track, which begins its free morning-workout and jockey interview program at 8:30 a.m. Central. There is a free breakfast, and a barn tour follows the interviews.

Also on the card Friday night, Tom Durant set a new record for owner wins in a meet at Lone Star when Street Cell led throughout to win the eighth race. It was the 31st win at the meet for Durant, who surpassed the 2007 record set by Heflin and Driver Racing.

Durant achieved the mark with 77 starters through the first 42 dates of the meet. Heflin and Driver had 30 wins from 91 starters during the 67-date meet back in 2007.

Racing resumes Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Central.
