Lone Star: New course record in race 3

Salty Wave ($2.80) just set a new course record for five furlongs on turf in the third race at Lone Star Park, when she covered the distance in 55.09 seconds. The previous mark of 55.11 was set on June 18, 2009 by Bonjurnose.

Salty Wave was winning her third straight race in the $35,000 optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares. She stalked the pace set by Suzy Three, then drew clear. Chris Landeros was aboard, giving him a sweep of the first three races on the card. Salty Wave is trained by Karl Broberg.

Landeros does not have a mount in the upcoming fourth race, but will be aboard Rock Steady in the fifth.
