Lone Star: Midwest-Autrey Split

The four horses that Midwest Thoroughbreds and trainer Cody Autrey had entered in three races Sunday at Lone Star Park will not run. They are stewards' scratches and the reason, according to the stewards, is because the parties have terminated their relationship.

Midwest and Autrey had claimed about 30 horses during the Fair Grounds meet, with Autrey setting up shop with some of those claims at Lone Star Park. He said last week that some of the horses had also been shipped to Kentucky to trainer Brad Cox.

The horses that were scratched Sunday were all leading contenders. In the fourth race, take out No. 6, Costly. In the fifth, scratch No. 1, Cat Bells, and in the sixth, take out the entry of Vigilante Law and Dublin Da' Bet.

Midwest and Autrey won the seventh race together Saturday, with Maltese Dog ($3.80).
