Email

There were five claims in for Yankee Gone South, who finished second as the 4-5 favorite in the fifth race Sunday at Lone Star Park. Ian Yarnot and trainer Dallas Keen won the shake, taking the horse for $15,000 from Carl Moore and trainer Bret Calhoun.

Yankee Gone South set a quick pace in the five-furlong turf sprint, covering a half-mile in 43.80 seconds before being overtaken late by Uno Ducksy ($18.20), who won in 55.34. Yankee Gone South has won on dirt and turf this meet. He is a 3-year-old gelding by Yankee Gentleman.
