Lone Star: Big crowd on hand

Lone Star Park's apron is packed, with many in the young crowd awaiting a post-race concert by the Eli Young Band. Last year when the group played Lone Star the track drew over 18,000, according to officials. Temperatures have cooled off as the card has gone on, thanks to a strong breeze that has made for a comfortable night at the races.

Lone Star on Saturday will hold its new Jockeys & Java morning workout program that also features a late-morning stable tour. Bart Lang, the director of racing for Lone Star, will be among the guests at the trackside event that gets underway at 8:30 a.m. Central.

The upcoming eighth race is a well-matched optional claimer at five and a half furlongs, with Little Talk and Saint's Relic currently co-favored at 3-1.
