Keeneland: Trainer Charles Lopresti remains on fire, wins fourth race with Happenstance

Trainer Charlie Lopresti loses races occasionally. He must, really...I just can't seem to remember when he lost one.

Okay, that's hyperbole, but the numbers Lopresti has hung up this meet at Keeneland, and for that matter over the past two months, are nothing short of remarkable.

When Happenstance won the fourth race for him Saturday at Keeneland, he pushed his meet record to four-for-five. And get a load of this - since Aug. 14 he is a stunning 9 for 15 - which includes victories from Here Comes Ben in the Grade 1 Forego at Saratoga, and Wise Dan in the G3 Phoenix here this meet.

Both are being pointed toward Breeders' Cup races, with the mile the target for the former and the Sprint the Breeders' Cup race for the latter.

Oh, and even with the hot Lopresti in his corner, Happenstance was only mildly favored in the fourth, a $10,000 claiming race, paying $8.40.
