Keeneland: Sun. scratches, etc.

Like a lot of other tracks (i.e., Aqu and SA), we saw a real stunner yesterday in the feature when Lilacs and Lace wired 8 other 3yo fillies at 48-1 in the G1 Ashland. . . . so not only did the Ky Derby picture get more muddled, but the Oaks picture, too.

It's a very nice Sunday here in the Bluegrass, as opposed to the cloudy (and occasionally stormy) first 2 days. The sun is out, and the high temp is supposed to reach about 80, which very much helps to offset the fact there is no stakes here today, the first of just 4 stakes-less programs at the 15-day spring meet. Fast Poly, firm turf, first post 1:15 ET.

Worth noting that even with the Ashland shocker, the 50-cent pick 5 was hit yesterday, with 2 winning tix worth $37,810 resulting from a gross pool of $121,327. This thing has already caught on. Meanwhile, in the 9th-race super high 5 ($1 minimum), the carryover into today is $19,571 after failing to be hit the first 2 days.

Here are the early changes on the 9-race card. Good luck.
