Keeneland: Speaking of which...


Remember when horses couldn't possibly win on the lead on the Poly....when all the jocks strangled and took a hold, and it turned into a test of stretch-quickening ability?

Speed, just like it is on dirt, is now a strength, particularly in sprints. And this meet, more so than the past, there seems to be less kickback - so horses saving ground and stalking the pace are doing well, too.

This track is playing fairly in the way a dirt track would, (gasp) as hard as that would have been to imagine years ago.
