Keeneland: early results

Lots to report from early on the blockbuster Sat. card at Kee . . . the first Arabian race in track history elicited tremendous interest, or at least curiosity, as 10 animals of the slower breed staged some drama in the 3rd race of the day. Grilla ($9.40) dealt previously undefeated Sand Witchh her first loss in a race that had the fans really buzzing.

The day started with quite a mutuel payoff, as the G.Foley firster Getaway Guy (15-1) led a superfecta that paid $2,388 for a mere dime, even with the 6-5 fave, R Fast Cat, finishing 3rd.

The fourth race, for 2yo allowance sprinters, was won in aggressive gate-to-wire fashion by Honey Chile ($7.80), with the leading jockey at AP, 23yo Michael Baze, getting his first win here. The winning time over the Poly was a sizzling 1:08.88.

The fifth race is on the track, and then we'll run 5 straight FallStars races (6-10), capped by the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile with Gio Ponti as a solid fave.
