Email

Kenny McPeek - well on his way to winning the Keeneland training title - is now within striking distance of a record-setting spring meet.

Entering the day with 12 wins, McPeek won two more in Thursday's third and seventh races,  first with maiden Bizzy Caroline in the third and then with allowance horse Dark Cove in the seventh.

The record for spring meet victories by a trainer is 16, set by Todd Pletcher in 2005.

After Dark Cove's victory, McPeek sits at 14.

He has one more starter today - My Baby Baby in the featured Bewitch - and has three horses entered in two races tomorrow, closing day.
