Keeneland: chalky day so far

Birdie Beats Par ($4.80, S.Bridgmohan) just aced 6 other 3yo 1x alw sprinters by leading pretty much every step in race 4, continuing a pretty chalky trend here so far this blustery day at Keeneland. The 9-race card started with Enclosure ($3.20, G.Gomez) a clear-cut winner, after which part of the Ken Ramsey entry, Big Blue Kitten ($4.40, J.Castellano) easily turned back Crown of Aragon to win by open lengths in race 2. Cursesandlessings ($7.80,  co-second choice, C.Orm) rallied from far, far back to win race 3, a 1 1/4-mile str alw event, over favored Plymouth Bay, giving the bugboy Orm his first-ever winner at Kee.

There are 21 MTP for the fifth race, first leg of the 50-cent pick 5 (no carryover), and Iwannaiwannaiwanna (#9, A.Garcia) is the early 9-5 choice in a field of 11.

Entries are out for the G3 Coolmore Lexington here Saturday, and of the 6 3yos in the race, only Silver Medallion has a shot to make the 137th Kentucky Derby (read more on main site).
