Keeneland: catching up

No big surprises so far today at Keeneland, where with 5 races in the books we're more than halfway thru the 9-race card being run under clear skies and amid high-60s temps. Ken McPeek, who told us he'd win "maybe 5 or 6 races" before the meet started, teamed with A.Garcia to sweep the early double ($33 for $2) with Pleasant Run ($8.60) in the 1st and Cardsontablefaceup ($6) in the 2nd, giving McPeek his full quota for the meet with wins Nos. 5 and 6.

The 3rd race marked the first win of the meet for R.Albarado, a multiple titlist here over the years at Kee, as he swept to command aboard the NJHoward-trained Close Ally ($12) to easily prevail. J.Castellano turned back all comers aboard Hollywood Reckless ($11.60) in the 4th, and then J.Leparoux got on the Wednesday board in the 5th with a run-off M.Maker winner, Spooky Kitten ($8.40), who's now 2 for 2 while running strictly in claiming events.

There are 6 MTP for the 6th, and off-the-turf 1x alw for 3yo fillies. Ms Silver Oak (#10) is a lukewarm 5-2 choice in a field of 10 for J.Castellano and trainer Chad Brown.
