Keeneland: 7 races, 7 winning jockeys

There have been 7 races here so far today at Keeneland, and 7 winning jockeys, the latest of which was J.Leparoux at a $25.60 mutuel aboard Promisei'llbehome (No. 3) in the 7th. Leparoux entered the day with a meet-leading 5 wins and obviously still has the lead at this early stage of the meet.

Catching up with earlier events on the 9-race Wed. card . . .

Pal Petey, (J.Campbell, $8) easily flew past odds-on Mish Mosh to win the 2nd. Liz Hunter (J.Graham, $10.60) held off longshot firster Snow Kissed to win the 3rd. Rose Medallion (S.Sellers, $6.40) was clearly best in the 4th. Lunar Pass (J.Velazquez, $7.80) just barely holds off a couple of onrushing foes to win the 5th. And Boots Ahead (G.Gomez, $4) became the only winning favorite so far when holding off Whitley in the nominal feature, a 3x turf allowance.

There are 16 MTP for the 8th, a 1x turf alw. for fillies and mares, and Unbridled Humor (No. 4) is currently the 2-1 fave in a full field of 12.

No stakes today, but we'll resume tomorrow with a wide-open 20th running of the $150k Jessamine for 2yo turf fillies, then keep it going Friday with the $100k Franklin Co. (West Ocean a heavy fave) and Saturday with the G1, $400k QE II, featuring Evening Jewel and Check the Label. The weather is supposed to cool off a bit but otherwise remain pleasant for the foreseeable future. Signing off until we have the Thurs. scratches in the a.m.
