Kee: Now THAT'S the Wesley Ward . . .

. . . we all know. Ward, famous for his prowess with 2yos, sent out the favorite to be a dull 4th in the first race of the meet yesterday but redeemed himself in a big way today when Nina Fever (8-5 fave), R.Albarado up, ran off and hid from six other 2yo fillies in the 1st race. There were maybe 50 people in the winner's circle, many of them, presumably, friends and family of Gatewood Bell, who co-owns Nina Fever, a Borrego filly, with Ward.

Albarado, by the way, replaces J.Lezcano aboard #1 Paisano Creek in the upcoming 2nd race, for which there are 18 MTP. A field of 6 goes, with #3 Solo Cat a late scratch. Evade (#2) is the current 9-5 favorite.
