Hollywood: Winning move by Glatt

Trainer Mark Glatt had Leroy's Dynameaux nominated for Saturday's $300,000 Shoemaker Mile, but opted to start the 4-year-old gelding in a $60,500 optional claimer over the same course and distance.

Courageous Cat edged Caracortado in a tough running of the Shoemaker Mile. An hour later, Leroy's Dynameaux ($12) ended a six-race losing streak with a win by three-quarters of a length over Kid Edward in the optional claimer. Rafael Bejarano rode Leroy's Dynameaux.

Glatt is likely to head to Del Mar and a stakes for Leroy's Dynameaux, who won the Grade 3 Will Rogers Stakes here in June 2010. Runner-up Kid Edward ran well in his first start since October, when he was third in the Grade 2 Oak Tree Derby.

The race was marred by injuries to Euroglide and Summer Movie. Euroglide, who was as low as 2-1 in the betting and was sent off at 4-1, was pulled up on the backstretch aand vanned off. Summer Movie, who finished fifth after fighting for the lead in the stretch, was pulled up a furlong past the wire. Summer Movie was third in the Grade 2 Swaps Stakes here last summer.

Both horses were vanned to the barn area. Euroglide was diagnosed with an injury to his left front tendon. Summer Movie was diagnosed with a possible injury to his left front tendon, according to track stewards.

Leroy's Dynameaux won the final leg of a $1 pick three that paid $572. The winners of the preceding legs were Courageous Cat ($4) and Memphis ($66.40).
