Hollywood: Two claims in 9th

There were two claims in Sunday's ninth race, including race winner Capt. Sparrow, who was taken for $8,000 by Robertino Diodoro.

Capt. Sparrow ($7.80) finished a half-length in front of Purse Luva, who is trained by Jack Carava.

Carava claimed Mark of a Warrior, who finished fourth in the seven-furlong race for $8,000 claimers. Carava trained Mark of a Warrior until February when the gelding was claimed from him for $12,500. He later finished fifth twice for trainer Steve Knapp and was claimed for $16,000 in the second of those races by trainer Doug O'Neill on April 17. Mark of a Warrior made two starts for O'Neill, finishing ninth in a $20,000 claimer on May 7 and fourth on Sunday after dropping sharply in value.

The field was reduced by one starter when Point of Origin, a 12-1 outsider, was scratched with two minutes to post after failing to warm up properly.

The pick six paid $5,561 on a day that began with a carryover of $86,254. Bettors added $610,151 to the pool on Sunday.
