Hollywood: Talamo sweeps double


Joe Talamo swept the early double on Sunday's program, winning aboard the favorites Nikki's Curfew ($4) and No Afillyation ($5.80).

Nikki's Curfew, a first-time starter, had little trouble with six rivals, winning the six-furlong race for maiden claimers by 3 1-4 lengths. Nikki's Curfew races for trainer Marty Jones.

No Afillyation took the lead at teh start of a five-furlong maiden race for 2-year-old fillies and was fully extended to hold off a late run from Lula Talullah, winning by a head in 56.83 seconds. No Afillyation races for trainer John Sadler, who also started third-place finisher Candid Ride.

No Afillyation was third and fifth in her first two starts in August and October.

Talamo has mounts in four more races on Sunday's nine-race program, including Wynning Ride in the Grade 2 Bayakoa Handicap, the eighth race, and Toscanova in the last race, another maiden turf sprint for fillies.
