Hollywood: Score for Fun's odd month

On Dec. 3, Score for Fun unseated jockey Felipe Valdez at the start of a maiden claimer, leaving the jockey with a back injury and an indefinite spell on the sideline.

Score for Fun returned in Saturday's first race and led throughout a maiden claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs against a bad field, winning by 5 3-4 lengths in an upset. Score for Fun ($52.20) was timed in a slow 1:18.69, and was ridden by jockey Edwin Maldonado, his second winner in as many days.

Score for Fun led throughout and was never challenged.

The 4-5 favorite Marcoman, who was fifth in his last start in November, failed to finish. He was pulled up in early stretch when racing in third-place. Marcoman was walked off the racetrack.
