Hollywood: Rail helps 'Diva'

Downhill Diva ($14.40) rallied on the rail in early stretch to score a mild upset in Friday's seventh race.

Ridden by Brice Blanc, Downhill Diva finished 2 1-2 lengths clear of 6-5 favorite Vision in Gold in the field of seven. Queen Martha, who was fourth behind Life at Ten in the Grade 1 Beldame Stakes at Belmont Park on Oct. 2, finished third.

Downhill Diva was the fourth choice in the betting. She was offered for a $50,000 claiming price at Del Mar on Sept. 4, and finished third. Trained by Patty Harrington, Downhill Diva's win on Friday ended a five-race losing streak dating back to an allowance race for statebred filliles and mares here in June.

There are two horses that are covered in Friday's pick six in the eighth and final race. If Breakmark or Five a Day win there will not be a carryover.
