Hollywood: PVal shaken up in spill

Jockey Patrick Valenzuela was shaken up after Thursday's seventh race when he was unseated from Moondance Ali after the finish of an allowance race over 1 1-16 miles on turf.

Moondance Ali finished third but suffered a fatal injury to her left foreleg about 100 yards after the wire. Moondance Ali had won her two preceding starts - a maiden claimer and a starter allowance.

After trying to pull up Moondance Ali, Valenzuela fell from the right side of the filly and remained on the ground motionless for a few moments. He rose onn his own power and then walked off the track. Valenzuela took off his final mount of the day, Miss Lulu Justice in the eighth race, after complaining of body soreness and was replaced by Modesto Linares.

The seventh race was won by I Can Hear ($6.80), who was fifth in the California Cup Distaff on Oct. 30 in her previous start.
