Hollywood: Pick 6 pool is small

Dancing at Dark had little trouble winning a seven-furlong maiden claimer in Saturday's fifth race, returning $4 as the winning favorite in the first leg of the pick six.

With the Breeders' Cup simulcast dominating the national racing scene, the Hollywood Park pick six was largely ignored on Saturday. The pool was just $102,183, which is more typical of a strong weekday than a Saturday.

Dancing in Dark was timed in 1:23.77, winning by 3 1-4 lengths over the 6-1 first-time starter Surfactant, who was 6 1-2 lengths clear of third-place finisher Doc Can Dance. Surfactant is trained by Rene Amescua, who has few starters in Southern California.
