Email

The 50-cent pick 5 on Sunday's first five races returned $27,647 for three winning ticketholders, a sequence in which there was only one winning favorite. Consolation tickets with four winners were worth $301. The bet features a 14-percent takeout.

The payoff was by far the highest in the first four days of the spring-summer meeting since the lower takeout bet was first offered

The winners of the first five races were Joyzey Billy ($30.40), Meter Me Gone ($12.20), Miss Resplendere ($19.60), Cragmont ($4) and Ninth Infantry ($21.20).

Ninth Infantry (Chantal Sutherland) ran a mile on turf in 1:34.58, winning an allowance race by 3 1-2 lengths over Jax El.
