Hollywood: Pender claims winner

Trianer Mike Pender claimed first race winner Dos Veinte and the 3-year-old filly may turf out to be a bargain for $10,000.

Dos Veinte ($4.80) stalked pacesetter Sweet and Jazzy, took the lead in early stretch and won the six-furlong race by 4 1-4 lengths over Lisa Lulu in 1:11.33.

Previously trained by Jorge Periban, Dos Veinte has won 3 of 13 starts. The style of her performance on Saturday suggests she can win again in the short-term against cheap claimers.
