Hollywood Park: Pick six is hit

There was one winning ticket in Thursday's pick six - worth $63,083 - after the heavily favored Word Association ($3.20) and Binky's Sister ($6.40), the second betting choice, won the last two legs.

A carryover seemed likely after the longshots Brinson ($39.40) and Miss Peanut ($17.80) won the first two legs, but Word Association was a "key" on many tickets and faced a short field, beating only four others.

Word Association gave jockey Patrick Valenzuela his first winner on Thursday's card, after runner-up finishes in the two preceding races.

Racing resumes on Friday at 12:15 p.m., a slightly earlier post time than normal to accommodate the simulcast from the Breeders' Cup program at Churchill Downs.
