Hollywood Park: Face and an Ace worth $38


Face and an Ace led or disputed the lead throughout an optional claimer over a mile on turf in Saturday's sixth race, returning $38. The win by the 3-year-old gelding was the first upset in the pick six races.

Ridden by Brice Blanc, Face and an Ace was timed in 1:35.86, finishing 1 1-4 lengths in front of Deputy Max. Jairzihno finished third.

Kevlar Kid, the 4-5 favorite, could only finish fourth. He was four-wide on the final turn when in contention but made no impression in the stretch.

Face and an Ace won the second leg of a pick six that attracted a pool of $220,868. Dana Dynamo, the 3-1 second choice, won the first leg for maiden claimers.
