Hollywood: Mitchell claims winner

Carbonite, an 8-1 chance, pulled an upset in Friday's sixth race, and was the subject of a four-way claim, going to Mike Mitchell for $32,000.

A 5-year-old gelding racing for trainer Tim Yakteen, Carbonite ($18.40) rallied through the final furlong under jockey Alonso Quinonez to win the $28,000 to $32,000 claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs by a neck over The Whammer. Galleta Monstruo was third, followed by Hard Bill, the 6-5 favorite.

Carbonite was timed in 1:16.39. He has won 6 of 12 starts. Well-traveled, Carbonite races at Golden Gate Fields last year, and throughout California and at Philadelphia Park and Aqueduct in 2009.

Friday's race was Carbonite's first start for Tim Yakteen. The gelding was trained by Dennis Patterson at Golden Gate Fields last year.
