Hollywood: Metz takes hot claimer

Twodollarstowin stretched her unbeaten streak to 4 races in Friday's second race at Hollywood Park and was claimed for $8,000 by trainer Jeff Metz.

Twodollarstowin ($4.20) closed from last in the seven-furlong race to finish three-quarters of a length in front of Justincredible, who was claimed by Mark Glatt.

Twodollarstowin started on Friday for trainer Mike Mitchell. Twodollarstowin had made her last five starts for Mitchell. For him, she finished fifth in an $8,000 claimer at Santa Anita on Feb. 27, won a $7,000 claimer at Santa Anita on March 25, a $9,000 claimer at Hollywood Park on May 5 and a $10,000 claimer on May 21. Joe Talamo was aboard for all four of the victories.

Twodollarstowin, a 7-year-old mare by Mr. Broad Blade, has won 8 of 31 starts.

She won the second leg of a 50-cent pick five that drew a robust pool of $245,709. In the first race, Balboa Bay ($7.80) caught pacesetter First Strike in the final sixteenth to win a starter allowance over 1 1-16 miles.
