Hollywood: Killer Graces shines

Email

Killer Graces won her first race in her second career start in Saturday's Cinderella Stakes, a victory that makes her the leading contender for the $100,000 Landaluce Stakes for 2-year-old fillies over six furlongs.

Killer Graces was beaten a nose in her debut on May 1, but ran well enough to catch the eye of trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who bought her privately in the days after that race. The Cinderella Stakes was Killer Graces's first start for Hollendorfer.

Ridden by Joe Talamo in the Cinderella, Killer Graces dropped back to sixth in a field of eight and closed well to win by 1 1-4 lengths over the 22-1 shot Chloe W, a first time starter trained by Eric Kruljac. Killer Graces was timed in 1:04.48 for 5 1-2 furlongs, and the longer sprint distances should be within her reach over the next 90 days.
