Hollywood: Kayce Ace wins comeback

Kayce Ace, a full-sister to the millionaire Colonel John, won an allowance race for fillies and mares in Thursday's seventh race, her first start since November.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Kayce Ace ($10.80) rallied from off the pace to finish a neck in front of Ellafitz, finishing 1 1-16 miles in 1:44.03. Gripsholm Castle finished third in the field of seven. Makoma, the 5-2 favorite, was pulled up in early stretch after never reaching contention.

Jockey Chantal Sutherland told track stewards that Nakoma "did not feel right" on the turn. Makoma was vanned off.

Kayce Ace, 4, has won 3 of 9 starts for Casner Racing and trainer Eoin Harty. She won a first-condition allowance race here last November in her most recent start.
