Hollywood: Hess's horse to follow

Pride of Silver made a promising debut around two turns in Friday's third race for 2-year-old maidens, suggesting that the gelding can show additional improvement in coming months.

Trained by Bob Hess, Jr., Pride of Silver snuck along the rail in early stretch and outfinished Surfacant to win by 1 1-2 lengths, running 1 1-16 miles in 1:46.19 on a cool and drizzly afternoon.

Pride of Silver ($4.60) was making his third start, having finished second in two starts here in October and November.
